Every so often a breakthrough
occurs in imaging technology offering us a new way to see the development of
human life in the womb from conception to birth. Each of these leaps forward in
imaging technology has kicked off a paradigm shift in the way we visualise and
understand unborn human life.
The latest of these breakthrough
imaging moments is Alexander Tsiaras’s “Conception to birth – visualised”. This
video combines a dazzling range of state-of-the-art medical scanning
technologies, woven into a developmental narrative telling the story of the
origin of a human life from fertilisation to birth, made universally available
by being posted as a Youtube. Tsiara’s commentary, given from a scientific and
mathematical perspective, rings with his wonder at the wonder he is presenting.
