CNN reports that actor Christian
Bale was yesterday stopped from visiting Chen Guangcheng by Chinese security.
Chen Guangcheng is a Chinese lawyer and human rights activist who has repeatedly
brought international attention to the coercive population control policies
arising from the Chinese One Child Policy. These human rights abuses include
forced abortions and forced sterilisations.
He is under house arrest in China
for some years. Hopefully this incident will bring more worldwide attention to
Chen Guangcheng's plight.
